Houston, TX (July 12, 2018) – Orion Span today announced that David Gull, chief executive officer and founder of Outer Realm, has joined its Board of Advisors. Gull will assist in the development of a high-definition virtual reality model of the world’s first-ever luxury space hotel, Aurora Station, as well as contribute to building out the entertainment experience aboard Aurora.

“Orion Span is making real an experience that all people, everywhere, have been dreaming about for decades,” said Frank Bunger, chief executive officer and founder of Orion Span. “David’s capabilities will highlight what an authentic astronaut adventure will entail – including the thrill of zero-gravity, the northern and southern aurora, as well as futurism in space station design that has never been seen before.”

Known as a thought and practice leader in the application of immersive software to real-world projects, Gull helps visions become a reality by first developing high fidelity, true-scale virtual prototypes in virtual and augmented reality. As a licensed architect, he understands that people's ability to visualize complex projects is inherently limited, and building any ambitious future requires buy-in, alignment, and clear understanding from an array of stakeholders. Gull founded Outer Realm to create a solution that showcases unbuilt projects and products as realistically as possible to ensure they are actually built, and to improve the product outcome through design iteration and validation.

Prior to Outer Realm, Gull was a vice president at Floored, a virtual technology start-up acquired by CBRE. He also has more than six years of design experience at renowned architecture firm Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, with several award-winning projects. Gull graduated first in his class from Cornell University’s No. 1 ranked architecture program, and also received a minor in Visual Representation.
