Houston, TX  (June 28, 2018) - Orion Span, an innovative space tourism company behind the first-ever luxury space hotel, will now accept cryptocurrency as payment for a future stay on Aurora Station. As the first company in the space tourism industry to embrace digital currency, Orion Span will accept multiple cryptocurrency types for the added convenience of travelers from across the globe.

“To better reflect the global nature of Aurora Station, we’re putting together these two worldwide resources – space and cryptocurrency - to further serve and improve access for our global clientele. This is part of our continuing mission: to make it easier than ever before to travel to and stay in space.” said Frank Bunger, chief executive officer and founder of Orion Span. “As a forward-thinking company, we’re proud to once again be pioneering the leading edge of the space industry by streamlining the technology involved in getting there.”

Beginning in 2022, Orion Span will take travelers on a life-changing, authentic astronaut experience with 12-day trips to Aurora Station. The journey starts at $9.5M per person and deposits can be placed online, for $80,000 per person. The company will now additionally accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin for an equivalent of $80,000. As before, deposits are fully refundable at any time.

Since launching reservations in April, Orion Span has already received more than 26 reservations from travelers around the world – including North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and beyond. Once complete, the hotel will host four guests at a time – as well as two crew members.
